Message The set is a percentage of the minimum and maximum the turbos can make with your set up. Basically full signal to zero signal.
For the Z on pump gas with any turbo I have found the gain setting of 8 will ramp quickly without causing a spike. Going higher just causes a spike until you get over 20 PSI.
With race fuel a gain setting of 10 is normally best and in some cases going to a gain setting of 12 can allow higher boost levels when you have the octane and desire ;-)

The set does not seem to change the max boost under 30.
As you go from 0 to 30 it allows it to ramp faster with higher numbers. As you go higher than 30 the boost keeps increasing. So start with the gain at 8 start and a set of 30 and see where you are. Go up from 30 in steps of 5 to get close to where you want your peak and dial in going up or down 1 number at a time to dial it in to your desired boost.
Depending on turbos, wastegates, wastegate preload, intercooler pipe size, exhaust size, ect..... The percentage will vary, so starting at 30 and working your way up for higher boost numbers is always best.
